Though only a small number of students major in dance at Barnard College, over half of all students participate in dance classes, making dance an important element in both the social and academic fabric of the campus.

How can a new structure strengthen weaker moments in the barnard campus circulation? Can architecture both demonstrate dance and also create a place to learn from it? How can architecture use a linguistic system to explore the “phonetics” of the site using a “syntax” (or movement) of dance?
